Meeting of the Knights of Columbus

St. John Vianney Hall called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Grand Knights Report: 

• We received a thank you card from Michael Downey family on the passing of his mother.
• One hundred turkeys were donated to the Salvation Army. Grand Knight Mark Gerow from Council #9518 in Ralston asked for our help to pick the turkeys up on November 21st, deliver them to the church, cook them and return them to the church on November 24th. Ray would deliver them.

Treasurer's Report:

• Checking account: $8,552.00

Financial Secretary's Report:

• Keith informed us about new Form 100's and suggested discarding old green card.

Membership Director:

• We are welcoming three new members; Chuck Thramer, Cory Murphy, and Matthew Boyd.
• The next First Degree is December 1, 2008. Be here at 5:30 for the 6:00 initiation. The meeting will follow at 7:00 in the Social Hall.

Church Director: Rod Dolton

• We will deliver November 23, 2008. Truck unloading at 7:00 am. They will need help to unload and distribute on Sunday. Sign-up to help

Council Director:

• Bart reported we were just shy of 130 people. We will take a look to see how much it costs per person. Discussion to follow in the next few months.
• Bart also contaced Hy-Vee to see how much it costs. Discussion to follow.
• Mike Hoskinson reports another caterer offers spaghetti and chicken. Motion made and seconded. Committee to decide on food, catering for Christmas party.
• Bart wanted everyone to thank Michael Downey for his great effort on the Cookie Dough sales.
• Michael also has a t-shirt with the Knights logo on the front. He has 1 dozen. To sell, see him.
• Motion made to buy shirts. Amended to take orders for what we want.

Old Business:

• Super Bowl Sunday Pizzas to be made again, January 31, 2009. See Mike Hoskinson or Joe scheppers. Last years money was set aside for a new mower. Check to see what to do with proceeds this year.

Blood Drive:

• We had 26 donors. Thank you

New Business:

• Marvin Sparks has a sign-up sheet for serving meals at the Stephen's Center. See Marvin if you are interested. He has the dates.

District Deputy: Bob Brown

• Get involved with our First Degree Team, we have people moving and we need you.
• November 4, 2008 is Election Day, please vote.

Field Agent: Doug Kelly

• A Knight Before Chirstmas Campaign to recruit new members.
• Motion made to have Doug and Bob Brown contact Fr. Pat to have Father's Membership Campaign help recruit members.

Other items:

• Support Fr. Pat. Tell him how much we love him and care for him.
• Pro-Life Message Board will be out at 118 & I soon.
• Go to Major Degrees, get refreshed again.
• Read your courier.
• Doug Kelly named Agent of the Month.

Please pray for:

• Rob Jeltema's mother who suffered a stroke.
• Our Troups, Bill Rosman's son.
• Kelly Korth's nephew.
• Keith Soltis' mother who passed away.
• John Johnson's neighbor who lost his mother.
