Meeting of the Knights of Columbus

St. John Vianney Hall called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Grand Knights Report: 

• Larry Smith turned over Grand Knight duties to Ray Honacker.
• Ray Honacker turned over Deputy Grand Knight duties to Joe Scheppers.
• Joe Scheppers turned over Inside Guard duties to Don Schuneman.
• Fr. Pat thanked the council for sponsoring a hole at the golf outing.

Treasurer's Report:

• Checking account: $8,685.51
• FAF: 817.60
• CDs: 17,500.00

Financial Secretary's Report:

• Two sympathy cards sent.

New Business:


• Super Bowl Sunday Pizza Drive. Rod Dolton will contact company for this. Dates to follow.
• There is a sign in the garage which would be good for advertising. Need help to fix electrical, letters, numbers. If anyone can fix this or help get this going please talk to Ray Honaker.
• Get more involved with the Annual Pro-Life Chain.
• Keith Soltis thanked everyone who has helped him with is trips to the doctor.
• See Ray about cookie dough... if your order didn't come in. We will be selling extra for money maker at Pancake Feeds.

Membership Committee Director: Rob Jeltma


• First Degrees before each meeting - Setup at 5:30 - Initiation at 6:00. We will try to do this until further notice.
• Our goal for this year is to get 11 new people to join. Follow-up with candidates is important.

Church Director: Rod Dolton


• It is Deli-International time of year.
• We will be taking orders the first 2 weeks of November. Sign-up to take orders.
• Delivery will be Sunday November 26th ONLY.
• We will need help unloading the truck on the morning of the 26th and delivering orders to those who are not able to pick their orders up.

Community Director: Darrell Henning


• There will be a Highway Clean-up in April. Dates to follow.

Council Director: Bart Braun absent. Ray Honaker taking his place.


• There will be a pancake feed on Sunday, October 26th.

Family Director: John Johnson


• Christmas card orders will be taken after ll masses in conjunction with Deli-International.
• Delivery pick-up will be November 26th.
• John needs help to take orders on Saturday. Contact him if you can help.

Youth Director: Open
The following activities are in process:

• Free Throw Contest
• Soccer Challenge
• Substance Abuse Posters
• Highway Clean-up

Unfinished Business:


• Net income from the Spaghetti Dinner was $210.00. Thank you Don Schuneman for doing this, you did a great job.

District Deputy: Bob Brown


• Contact Jim Babcock about Pro-Life banners and signs. Don Klitz will contact Jim.
• Go to KofC.org - Major Publications to read Supreme Grand Knight Carl Anderson's letter about Pro-Life.
• Get out and vote this year.
• Bob Brown presented Larry Smith with the Star Council Award.

Christmas Party: December 6, 2008


• Bart Braun reported email invitations will be sent to all. It will be a catered event with an open bar. Cost information will come later. RSVP will be in invitation.

Field Agent: Doug Kelly


• 'Father Wants You To Join The Knights' Campaign will be sponsored by Doug.
