Meeting of the Knights of Columbus

St. John Vianney Hall 7:00 p.m.

OFFICERS ABSENT:  Ken Ringer, Kurt Skardis

Grand Knights Report: October 6, 2007

• Vala's Pumpkin Patch Outing - there will be a roster at the window with your name. Tell them who you are.
• We have campsite #12, hot dogs, pop, marshmallows will be provided.
• Please bring a pot luck dish for all to share, 5 pm to closing.

Treasurer's Report:

• $20,000.00 C.D., $8,000.00 C.D, $1,248.28 family assistance fund. We are working on a budget that is in progress.

Financial Secretary's Report:

• Bill talked about what our officers are doing to get new members active. Our directors are in place to keep activities going. As stated earlier we are putting a budget together as we have gotten low on our account. A written or verbal response to one of the officers on how to spend our money should be made before the monthly meeting so the officers can see if funding is available for this request.
• Investment committee to decide about how to reinvest or use some of our interest for activities. This is an ongoing discussion and we will advise the council of our findings.

New Business:

• Sign-up sheet was sent around for setting up and tearing down at the October 14th, Parish Festival. If you would like to help, contact Mike Winkelmann.
• A suggestion was made that maybe we could pay for the Christmas Party ourselves this year since we are low on funds. Any suggestions feel free to contact the officers.
• Also, a garage sale was mentioned to raise money. Any thoughts feel free to contact the officers about this.

Membership:

• Rob Jeltema, would like to have us get active in recruiting new members at the festival and other activities or places where we can get people to join the Knights. October 21, 2007 at the masses, October 28, 2007 at the spaghetti dinner, also.

Youth Director:

• Ron McDermott, would like to congratulate our winners, at the soccer challenge held at Skutt High School. The winners move on October 21, 2007, at noon at Skutt High School for Regional Competition.
