Meeting of the Knights of Columbus

St. John Vianney Hall 7:00 p.m.

Ray opened the meeting at 7:15 pm with Decon Harold Sawtelle leading the prayer

Roll Call:  Skipped - 1st motion by Frank Insolera and 2nd motion by Roger Vorderstrasse - Voted and passed

Recorder: Minutes read and accepted - 1st motion by Bill Menosek and 2nd motion by Don Glitz - Voted and passed

Grand Knights Report: 

• Thank you from Amy Brammer (with F.O.C.U.S.) was read
• Talked about Dick Snyners surgery and recovery - he is in rehab at Montclair
• Would like to see a good show at the priest appreciation dinner coming up July 26th at Mt. Michael - Social at 6:00 pm and Dinner at 7:00.
• We will donate $250.00 to help with the refreshments.

Financial Secretary's Report:   No Changes

Treasurer's Report:

• Checking balance $24,868.63
• No changes on CDs or bills to be pais

Membership Director's Report:

• One new first degree from Gretna and three no shows - will investigate
• Reminder that New Membership count is due at the end of June.

Grand Knights New Business:

• We are giving father a check for $18,000.00 now, but will present him a replica at a corporate mass on July 11, 2010, to show our appreciation for the parish's support

Grand Knights Unfinished Business:

• Chuck Thrame leads off with a reminder about the Vocation Night on June 25th. We need to bring as many interested youths possible to mix with the priest (who will be our guest) and to get with Bart to help with the hamburgers and hot dogs.
• New commercial toasters are in the Kitchen.
• The new freezer is almost ready to go and the fridge is on the way. Due to the size of the pantry doors we had to go with a different fridge and it will get a rebuild. While the fridge service man is here we are having him service the ice maker too.
• John Bosco is in the seminary now and is getting ready to take his first vows soon. For every $500 we sponsor we get $100 back - we will give him $1,000.00 and also the $200.00 we get back for a total of $1200.00.

Field Agent:

Thanks to Ray for his good job as Grand Knight and thanks to the council for the support of the Vocations. Talked about the young priest that just died in a car wreck. His name was Father Mark Tasler and his parents belong to St. John Vianney - Norm and Arlene Tasler. Please pray for their strength during these hard times.

District Deputy:

• It would be great if the Grand Knight, Deputy GK and the FS could attend the GK convention coming up.
• All new officers will take effect July 1st.
• Talked about the contest for Knights who sign up a new member.
• First degrees coming up Saturday June 19th at at 1:00 pm at St. James and June 17th St. Gerald's Mass at 7:00 pm degree to follow.

Meeting closed with Harold leading the prayer.
